The end of Les 4 Vallées next season?

Pretty bizarre news in the Swiss Media today. The lift corporations of Verbier, Veysonnaz, Nendaz and Thyon did not come to an agreement about offering Les 4 Vallées on one lift pass. The situation right now is indicating that there will be separate ski areas next season.

Not unique, but pretty special
The situation where lift companies are joining forces to offer a huge, combined ski area aren't unique. That basically is happening in every major ski area. But it's pretty unique that the different lift companies don't come to an agreement.

Verbier Grand Ski
Verbier will offer the 'Verbier Grand Ski' next season, a liftpass that will include the Mont Fort, Médran, Savoleyres and Bruson for 71 Swiss Francs (that's one Franc more expensive than a day pass last season that included the whole 4 Vallées). There are still attempts to make it work for next season and offer the 4 Vallées on one liftpass. Hopefully, this will work out...

A solution?
If the situation stays like this, it will have some major consequences for reaching the amazing freeride potential of the area. For example, you probably can't reach the Chassoure from Tortin anymore (or you should buy two liftpasses. Let's hope for a solution from the lift companies!
