Chamrousse is, like it's big brother Les 7 Laux, part of the Belledone ridge. This is a elongated massif that stretches from Grenoble in the south up to Chambéry in the north. Snow comes from the weststau here. Chamrousse isn't situated very high, especially if you keep in mind how close it is to the Mediterranean sea. This makes it an ideal resort to ride pow in the heart of winter. When spring knocks on the door you'll be better off in the high alpine slopes of Alpe d'Huez or La Grave just an hour away.

With bad weather

Around the Arselle lift you'll find enough trees, but this is pretty mellow terrain. Fortunately the rest of the resort offers enough possibilities on a dump day, but you'll be better off in Les 7 Laux.
