As Cortina Arabba is in the heart of the Dolomites with a sophisticated system of snow cannons, an important export product of this region. Far south of the alpenhoofdkam Snow comes not from the north. A northerly flow brings blue skies and strong winds blow. Middle of winter is cold here and the snow falls when low pressure areas in the south occur. A genoa layer and a low-adria bringing snow, especially in the early and late winter. Southern winters bring snow , northern winters mostly sunshine and blue skies.
