Exposition

A little left and a little above the entrance to the valley to Zerrmat lies Grächen. Not a powderhole, no mindshattering freeride and no hundreds of kilometers of runs. So they created their own niche with their facilities for kids. Smart? Definitly, as this just really is no powderhole. Because of the location between the north alpine ridge and the main alpine ridge the snow has to come from the west. And that doesn't happen daily. Especially not this far into the vally. Luckily, being so inneralpinethe snow stays fresh longer. Prebook? Only because of the kids.

With bad weather

Ouch, the trees that provide some cover are wildschutz according to the pistemap. Yet according to the Swiss wildschutz website this is only an advise. Just check the conditions with the ski patrol and ask for the current status.

Still no signs of winter in the Alps. But hey, besides powder there is so much more to enjoy! Nice food, good drinks and what to think of a beautiful sunrise like this morning? Happy Holidays everybody!

Some light snow fall last night in Grächen, Wallis, Switzerland. But it definitely is not enough for off piste skiing, other than ski touring.
