Exposition

Les Karrelis lies in the western part of the long Maurienne Valley. In the south and southwest big boys like the Aguille d'Arves and Belledonne and in the northeast the more than three thousend meter high peaks of Les Trois Vallées, this small village is located ideal for snow from the west to northwest. The snow line is rather high during the passage of warm fronts, but with midwinter cold fronts from the weststau it snows a lot and always at least 20-30 cm more than in easterly located Valloire and Valfréjus. Les Karrelis is therefore at its best in mid winter. From mid-March spring starts and you’ll notice that for sure. Fortunately most slopes are facing north so the sun will not have a tremendous impact.

With bad weather

With the advent of the new Vinouve chairlift is an important part of the forest bounds become. Fortunately, you can still left and right of the Plan du Four elevator go. Keep in mind that in particular skiers right of this lift the bgroeiing very dense. Fortunately there is a sort of walkway (Ponsonniere) through this forest, so you if you are really dense forest still via this path to the slopes can slide.
