Exposition

Meran 2000 is positioned North West of Bolzano. If there's a warning for truckers on the South of the Brennerpas know that its on! But unfortunately this doesn't happen often. Meran sits behind the big 3000'ers of North Lombardia and really needs a big snow front from the South to get things going. Which shows from the statistics. But statistics don't tell you the whole story. During the winter Meran can have massive fresh powder, and thats the time you want to be there. Don't book your trip ahead, go last-minute.

With bad weather

Some lines between the trees but its not really high altitude, so only a thin base often. Luckily there is a langlauf track through the forest which can help you save your gear on the way down when it really gets too thin.
