Exposition

Savognin is located on the way to the Julierpass. This means inneralpine, right in the middle of the Alps. This means it needs the big early season dumps. When it is still autumn in Bern, München and Lugano, winter has already arrived in this area. That is good news because in mid winter there is not much precipitation which means thin, avalanche prone layering. Usually new precipitation comes from March.

With bad weather

The majority of the trees are protected, wildschutz. But during winter there are not that many powder days anyway.
