The Devoluy are the pre-alps of the French southern Alps. Despite they are only the pre-alps, the peaks are on average 2500 meters high. The lifts start at about 1500 meters. Very convenient since these are the southern Alps and although snowfall can be heavy, the snow level is usually relatively high. Snow arrives from west to southwest and a cold and stormy wind blows from the northwest. Blue skies are not unusual in this part of France and if the southern winter holds off, it’s better to head to the northern Alps.

With bad weather

Not a lot of trees here. Only the t-bar Roche and the lower part of the Sapins piste provide some shelter during the dumping days.
