There it is, the first powderalert of 2015. There is significant snow expected for the Cascades, BC, northern Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. A first dusting is to arrive this morning, but there is more to come. This saturday will be a the start of a powder weekend. Snow is expected to arrive in nice portions in the Cascades, interior BC and Montana. Later on snow may arrive in Wyoming and Colorado on Saturday night. Since the majority of the moisture stays East of the Divide it's better to look for upslope conditions in Colorado and Wyoming. A nice dusting before a new storm arrives.
Heavy snow is expected be falling from Sunday night into Monday in BC, Northern Idaho and northern Montana. You may expect 10-15 inches (30-45 cm) by late Monday. Temperatures will be warming Monday with a mixed bag possible late AM or Monday evening. But sinve there is some warmer air moving in you'd better have a look at the resorts with higher elevations on Monday. Especially the Cascades might suffer under the warmer air moving in.
Interrio BC, Wyoming and Montana instead will benefit due to higher elevations from some nice and sweet decent powder from Monday till Tuesday. As light snowfall turns heavy over the Tetons and southern Montana. Light snow is expected to continue into Wednesday.
