Current

About two weeks ago you couldn’t hardly find any snow in the Pyrenees, but right now there is enough snow to open the first lifts. And they should hurry up, because the next days this storm will bring about 70 cm. The map below shows you where to find the goods. You’ll find all our powder forecast map here.

Snow is coming in from the North.
Snow is coming in from the North.

The storm Johanna will bring snow and cold temperatures to the Pyrenees. This will result in some freshies today and tomorrow. Les Angles is already open. Piau-Engaly and the Tourmalet are opening on December 5th and on December 6th Saint Lary and La Pierre St. Martin will open their lifts. This will also be two bluebird days. It sounds great: the first powder, bluebird and no powder stress. If you know more resorts that are opening soon, let us know!

Second storm

The second storm will follow on Friday. This storm will travel south (coming from the United Kingdom). At first, the wind will turn southwest, the snowline will rise and there will be a süd-föhn. Later in the afternoon the storm will kick in, the snowline will drop and it will start snowing on the northern side of the Pyrenees. It’s still not really clear how long it will snow and how many centimeters. The reason is a high pressure are coming in on Saturday and that simply blocks the storms. According to this scenario you can expect some snow just before the weekend and ride powder on Saturday!

Finally winter in the Pyrenees
