Almost 1 meter of fresh snow ghas fallen in the Pyrenees since the start of the snowfalls on Saturday afternoon. There is another 20-5- cm of fresh powder reported during the night. These snowfalls were accompanied by sormwinds up to 100km/h. Therefor the avalanche danger has risen to 4 (HIGH) or even 5 (Very HIGH). This means not only skiers and boarders are in danger, but even public life might be threatend by huge spontanously avalanches.

Stay inside!

Several routes towards the skiresorts of the Pyrenees have been blocked by avalanches this morning already and we do expect laods of avalanches this afternoon as the avalanche danger will go up to HIGH.

Short term

Snowfalls continues at least untill Thursday morning. And we do expect another 40-100 cm of fresh snow. Since snowlevels will go up on Wednesday the situation might get really tricky on Wednesday afternoon. It will be sunny on Thursday. Zero level degree is expected around 1700 meters.

A new storm is moving in on Friday. Snowlevels will drop towards 1100 meters and we expect massive snowfalls again.

Powderadvice

Be aware! Resorts might be closed due to the high danger level. If resorts might be open ride hard, but ride smart and stay on piste. Maybe the danger level will drop on Thursday, but is expected to rise again on Friday.

A new update tomorrow.

Stay stoked

Morris
