Tahoe, start your engines

Short term

Sunday to Monday we will see moderate snowfalls in the Cascades, BC, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. Colorado and Utah will see some light to moderate snowfalls on Monday. Nice, but not epic.

But it will...

Moderate to heavy snow is expected to arrive at Tahoe by Tuesday morning. Very, very cold air is moving in with snow towards lake level and pushing further south. Up to a feet is expected in Big Bear, Mammoth and Kirkwood by Wednesday morning where as the southern resorts might pick up the best snow. First chair Wednesday!

This southwest flow is likely to arrive in Utah by Wednesday morning. Since it's coming in from the southwest, resorts like Snowbasin, Solitude, Brighton and Powder Mountain are expected to receive the biggest amounts. Amounts could approach 1-1.5 ft.

More details later this week. Start your engines!
