A series of storms are moving into the Pyrenees the next few days. They already got 30-70 cm of freshies the last few days and temperatures were pretty low. Treeruns were in great shape, but this will change during the next few days.

Snow line

The warm sector that is moving in on Wednesday will push the snow line towards 1800 meters and the snow line will go up towards 1500 meters or even higher. With all this new snow of the last few days, the warmer temperatures and more snow and rain in the forecast the danger ratings went up to 4 (High) on a scale of 5.

EPIC

The warm sector is expected to dominate the temperatures until at least Thursday evening. After that a cold sector will move in, temperatures will drop and some cold snow is expected to top off on the warmer layer that will fall between Wednesday morning and Thursday evening. It looks like we see a decent layer of cold snow on Friday which will make the Friday and/or Saturday a potential EPIC day.

Warm on Sunday

But it looks like Sunday will be to warm again (possibly even warmer than the Wednesday-Thursday episode) and may push the snow line (way) above the 2000 meters level. So Sunday might be wet and warm. What will happen after Sunday is still uncertain. More to come.
