The lifts are closed in Engelberg as well due to the strong wind. You can clearly see wind signs in the snow on the webcams.

Because of avalanche danger four and the strong wind, the lifts in Andermatt have been closed all day. You can see spontaneous avalanches on the webcam.
12.18 Trains obstructed in Switzerland
Several trains in Switzerland are obstructed because of the strong wind. The famous Glacier Express has been removed from service until the wind dies.
11.45 Wind gusts up to 165 km/h in Switzerland
A wind gust of 165 km/h is measured on the Crap Masegn in Graubünden. On the Säntis 147 km/h.
9.47 The cold front is expected in the Alps this afternoon.
The temperatures will drop and heavy wind will come in from the north. The snow line will drop deep into the valleys.

Almost 10 degrees in Adelboden. The warm front is causing high temperatures this morning.

Gusts of wind of 12 BFT and more are expected in the Alps this afternoon. Especially in and around the main alpine ridge there will be a heavy storm. The stormbal can be lifted.

Meteo France scaled the avalanche risk in the Savoie up to HIGH. In parts of the French Alps they had around 80 centimeters of fresh snow the last 24 hours. Source
