Live: 2-9 cm of freshies in the northern Alps

Live: 2-9 cm of freshies in the northern Alps

It seems that every flake counts in the Alps this winter. It’s snowing today in the northern Alps. It started snowing early this morning and you can expect around 10 centimeters of freshies, locally maybe even 15 centimeters. The most precipitation will come down in the Bernese Oberland. The quantities are less more to the west and to the east and it won’t snow at all in the southern Alps. Nothing really changed in the forecast for the long term, so let’s enjoy ourselves with some webcam images. And for those who no longer believe in a winter invasion in 2015 I can tell you that the Climate Prediction Center expects more snow than usual for January and February. And that’s inline with the prediction of Sepp Haslinger! And mister Haslinger even predicts low temperatures as well. What else can go right?

Some pictures of today. The sun will come out in the afternoon and you can ride some freshies on the slopes tomorrow morning. The Bernese Oberland already had the best conditions in the Alps and these conditions will improve with the snowfall today.
