Last winter Faction teamed up with Gear4guides, a nonprofit that works to empower ski and snowboard instructors in emerging winter sports tourist destinations to create sustainable winter tourism. This past March, together with Faction athletes Arnaud Rougier and Laurent Gauthier, the team traveled to Arslanbob, Kyrgyzstan to distribute over 500kg of donated ski gear collected throughout the winter. Here, winter unemployment reaches 80%. Alongside local guide, Hayat Tarikov, they taught locals skiing, snow safety, and then went on to explore the amazing terrain of the surrounding Tien Shan Mountains.

Awesome, going there myself in Februari with a new company who are also trying to get tourism going in Kyrgyzstan! They recently transported a ton of 2nd hand gear from the Netherlands to help open up a rental shop in Karakol.
