Awesome October Powder in France

Lots of snow came down in the Alpes du Sud in France. We drove to the Col Agnel on the border with Italy, to check out if we good find some freshies over there. We parked our car at the Pont de l'Ariane (winter parking) and we had some doubts if it would be any good. The snow cover was pretty thin. But only a few kilometers away... BOOM! A solid snow cover of about 30 cm which was a bit humid and on top of that around 10 cm of fresh powder that came down during the night!

By then we knew it would turn out to be a great day. I love the vibe during this time of the season. The people you meet are all really happy that they can play in the snow again. They don't need steeps, but those first turns of the season make everybody smile.

The descent (honestly: descents, because you just want to do it again) was pretty good considering the fact that it's the middle of October. Of course you had to be careful for the sharks just underneath the snow, but the sun, the snow, the simple joy of being there were so worth it. This was a great start of the season that hasn't even begun yet!
