Large parts of the western Alps have seen record amounts of snow. Slopes that you normally can't ride are now in perfect condition. The amounts of snow that were regularly alternated with hot and humid weather ensured that the snow would stick to faces where normally no snow can be found.
Paul de Groot and Koen Bakkers knew the potential of the Swiss resort of Les Marécottes and came back with this footage.
This was the result of many hours of planning, hiking, climbing, driving and filming. What they did not know was that they rode lines that even the locals Nicolas and Loris Falquet had never done.
The brothers Falquet (also known as Chuck and Huck) told them that when stumbled upon them in the village and had a drink.
You can find out more about the village of Les Marécottes here. Check out this page for all the terrain information (slope angles, exposition, routes etc.). Another 20-40 cm is expected this weekend and the conditions will be even better!
