Huge controlled avalanche east of Revelstoke

Wow! Just wow! Check out the rage and the power with which this avalanche is coming down. The BC Transportation and Infrastructure triggered this avalanche on Highway 1 in British Columbia, east of Revelstoke. They needed to reduce the load in the Lanark Avalanche Path, but it also triggered another avalanche path, the Twin Path, and an avalanche came down over there as well!

Check out the amazing footage and if you’ve ever wondered why the Rogers Pass is closed for a couple of hours (or longer) sometimes, well, here’s your answer!
