Powder in the south, PA #16 for the north after the weekend

It’s a powder day in Ticino today and you are best off on the south side of the Alps next weekend. It’s mild and cloudy with a high snow line in the northern Alps on Saturday and a large part of the Sunday. The south has had some snow on Thursday and you’ll have the most chance of sun this weekend. The best conditions this weekend can be found in:

Pick a resort with sufficient northern slopes (it’s already March) and you’ll have a great weekend. Some tips? Airolo, Corvatsch and Diavolezza .

Cold air coming in on Sunday

The weekend starts mild and there is some cold air coming in only in the course of Sunday. According to the latest calculations to give the snow will fall even deeper in the valleys on the north side of the Alps on Sunday. The snow line drops sufficiently nly on Monday and when the sun comes out on Tuesday it will be a powder day in the northwest. The best snow is nevertheless above the tree line because some of the precipitation initially falls as rain below 1400 to 2000 meters during the weekend.

Monday and Tuesday:

New storm from Tuesday/Wednesday

It doesn’t end after Tuesday. There are more storms in the forecast and PowderAlerts #17 and #18 are coming up! March is doing a great job to compensate the precipitation that didn’t come down in February.
