The next 60 hours are all about PowderAlert #21. A very active front travels across the Alps, resulting in a lot of snow. It’s snowing heavily on Wednesday and Thursday, but the sun will come out from the west from Friday.

TIP: check out the where to go tips for PowderAlert#21

The pictures below are from Wednesday morning and 15-35 cm of fresh snow has already fallen south of the Gotthard and the Simplon. That will be a lot more in the coming hours.

Het weekend wordt een poederweekend om niet te vergeten. Let wel op voor de rappe opwarming en het flink aangescherpte lawineniveau. Check je lokale lawinebericht en pas er je plannen op aan.

The weekend will be a powder weekend to remember. Watch out for the rapid rise in temperature and the avalanche risk! Check your local avalanche forecast and adjust your plans to it.

In Engelberg it has been snowing as of yesterday evening 100cm in the village, aka 1000m altitude. It is still snowing lol. Depending on the avalanche risk this will could be an epic weekend, since the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday expects Sun!
