With the arrival of November the first snow came to the Alps. SNOWvember lives up to its name with some signifcant snow for the higher alpine. This weekend could be ideal to ride some powder on the glacier groomers that are already open. According to the latest forecasts the Saturday afternoon and maybe Sunday morning as well the weather might be good to get those legs in shape again.
Thursday and Friday I will add some updates with the most actual forecasts in so that you know if it pays to go. Note that it is still pre-season (read this article for more info about this qualification). The snow cover is still thin and rocks and crevasses are rarely far away. No knowledge of (the risks) off-piste and no knowledge of local conditions: please stay on the groomers.

Morris, a group of buddies and I are doing 3 weeks in January in Verbier and Zermatt. Which storms/fronts are the ones that most favour snow for these resorts.

Good questions. In our new guide book we collected these data for 100+ resorts.
Zermatt gets most of its snow out southwest. So best is everything between south to west.
Verbier needs a strong westerly jet stream. Everything between West to WNW is okay.
