Some more information about editorial and promotional stuff on wePowder

wePowder.com is largely free to access. You can find the best weather information for the Alps, a Safety Academy where we inform you about the risks of freeriding, and a lot of stoke. The European freeride community is strong and comes together on wePowder.com. That is our biggest motivation to keep developing wePowder. We wish for everyone to experience the feeling of riding through fresh powder and to share this with friends. The editorial team and developers of wePowder.com aim to inform and inspire freeriders. Where can you find the best snow? How can you deal with the risks of freeriding? We have been doing this since 2008. Annually, our website is used by more than half a million people from all over Europe.

The fact that a lot of information is accessible for free, however, does not mean that we can do all this work for nothing. Costs for servers, office, and such have to be paid, and so we also earn something with wePowder.com (fortunately). We always do this with the reader/user of the website (you) in mind. Below, we give you a glimpse of how this works and show how you can further support wePowder.com.

wePowder Pro

As a Pro, you support wePowder and get access to more weather data, the online Safety Academy, and much more. You also have the option to turn off the banners on wePowder.com, so you get an even better experience of the site.

Editorial articles

Most editorial articles are written 100% independently. However, sometimes it happens that an editor is supported by a ski area with a lift pass for one or two days and/or a hotel stay. The area never influences the content of the article, but we think it’s only fair to let you know.

Promotional articles and advertorials

In other cases, it happens that we place links in an article to, for example, a webshop or a tour operator. If you click on such a link and eventually make a purchase or a booking, we receive a small amount from that partner. You never pay more than you would have directly with that party, but you do support our site. The article is still completely independent. It becomes different when partners buy space on the site from us. We call this a promotional article or an advertorial. So, it’s basically just an advertisement, for which we receive a fee from that partner.
