Welcome to the new wePowder!

Welcome to the new wePowder!

It’s September 1st, the start of the meteorological Autumn. We decided to create a new version of wePowder. Simply because we weren’t happy with the old one. We’re fully focussing on the weather. To be more precise: we’re focussing on forecasting powder. And this website will help you find and ride great powder in the Alps and other mountain ranges in the world.

What’s new?

You can check in a glimpse if it will snow and you’ll find six-day weather maps on the forecast page. Note interesting information such as the wind, the snow line and if the resort is open or not. If you click on a destination you’ll find even more details. About the weather, the resort, routes and other stuff you need to make the right decision. The decision to make every day of riding a powder day. The forecast from MeteoMorris will help you make those decisions.

Thanks! @@kanski

One day, they'll invent synthetic powder, ban all kinds of work and give you a free liftpass...

I like the new design. But isn’t the forecast list a bit too optimistic? Half a meter of snow in Stubaital?

@@kanski @@TheDoctor @@KlasRydstrand, thanks.
@@TheDoctor, the forecast is voor the highest lift on the Stubaier Glacier. As you can see in detail (http://wepowder.com/playgrounds/stubaital) the first episode is rather warm with a snowlevel around 3000 meters. The second snow event we see temperatures dropping. Since it’s still warm and there is no frost higher up, these 2 events will give the glacier it’s white color back, but definitely no snow in the valley. Hope this helps?

@@meteomorris Thanks for the explanation. I also saw that you made some adjustments to your forecast list by mentioning snow on the top. Looking forward to the season!
