It’s the third consecutive day that it’s snowing in the Alps. Up to 110 centimeters of freshies came down locally (Lötschental, CH). You can find between 30-60 centimeters of freshies in the French northern Alps, Switzerland and Vorarlberg at 2000 meters altitude and it will keep on snowing today, like in the Quatre Vallées on the picture above. Just like Friday and Saturday you can read all about it in this live blog. If you’re in the Alps, Jura or Black Forest, share your updates in the comments!
PowderAlert #3
This second PowderAlert is for the northwest of the Alps and you can have a great day today on the glacier in Tignes or earn your turns on a tour. The conditions on the glaciers of Zermatt or the ones in Austria are pretty good as well. Monday and Tuesday will be great days, because the sun will come out. It will only be snowing a little bit in the Italian Piemonte. And you can brace yourself again from Wednesday: the snow machine will be switched on and again and we can get ready for PowderAlert #3!
More snowfall in the Alps from Wednesday
The northern jetstream will take over the weather in the Alps on Tuesday evening and we can get ready for some fireworks in the northwestern and northern Alps. Our snow maps pretty much say it all! It even looks like that more snow is on its way. An extensive analysis will follow on Monday! But first, let’s enjoy some amazing images from the Alps!
