Privacy
wePowder has been handling the privacy of visitors to our website in a careful and responsible manner for years. The storage of the minimum amount of necessary personal data is as safe as possible. Governments are increasingly strict whether organizations are dealing with privacy-sensitive information in the right way. Our privacy policy is described in detail on this page and you will also find the conditions for the use of this website.
Privacy policy
Which personal data do we process?
We only process a very limited amount of personal data:
- E-mail addresses of subscribers of our digital newsletters.
- E-mail addresses of registered users of wepowder.com
- IP addresses of registered users of wepowder.com
- Payment data for the use of wePowder Pro
To protect the privacy of our users, we have made the following choices:
- Using Google Analytics, we measure the visitor flows, traffic sources and page views of our website. Google uses cookies for this. With Google, we have entered into an agreement, which states that Google only acts as an editor when processing data from website visitors. We only measure the use of our website on the basis of anonymous data. So no complete IP addresses are used. Data sharing is disabled. There’s no use of other Google services in combination with Google Analytics cookies.
- We do not use banner (systems) and thus do not place tracking cookies to track your actions online.
Why do we process personal data?
E-mail addresses
To be able to log in on our website, we ask you for your e-mail address. Logging in is not mandatory to visit or use our website, but necessary when you want to contribute to our forum. With your permission, we store your e-mail address, in combination with an encrypted version of your chosen password, in our database. We need this e-mail address, yours as a registered user, to:
- Enable secure login.
- Send you a new password when you can no longer log in.
- Contact you in case of incidents.
E-mail addresses of visitors to our website that register for one of our digital newsletters are stored with our partner MailChimp. An agreement has been concluded with MailChimp. We only save your e-mail address for sending the digital newsletter for which you have registered.
When you subscribe to wePowder Pro, your payment details are processed by Mollie.com. More information about Mollie.com can be found here.
IP addresses
When a registered user places a message on the forum of our website, we store the IP address from which the message is placed. Saving these IP addresses is necessary to:
- Detect user abuse.
- To be able to block users.
- Preventing spam on our website by users.
What are the rights of visitors and users?
- Registered users can change their e-mail address on our website at settings.
- Subscribers to the digital newsletter can completely remove their e-mail address from our newsletters database, by unsubscribing via the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of each newsletter.
- Visitors and registered users of our website who want to know exactly what information we have stored from them can easily request this information by sending an e-mail to [email protected]
- Registered users can delete their account by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. The e-mail address of the user is then permanently removed from our database. Upon request, all messages posted by the user that contain privacy-sensitive information are also removed.
How safe are personal data stored?
- All personal data are stored in a secure database that only a very limited number of employees have access to. This database is only accessible via a secure connection.
- We make a weekly backup of the data that is placed on a separate secure server that only one of our employees has access to. After a year these backups are automatically deleted.
How long are personal data stored?
Both e-mail addresses and IP addresses are saved until an account is removed at the request of the registered user.
Which cookies are exactly used?
To make the best use of wepowder.com, your browser must accept our cookies. These cookies do not contain personal information. The cookies are only placed to use all the features that wepowder.com offers. For example, to facilitate logging in on our website and to remember your settings and preferences. We do not store personal information in these cookies.
To collect statistics, wepowder.com uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics also places a cookie on your computer. The purpose of this cookie is to give us a clear picture of visitor flows, traffic sources and pageviews. With Google, we have an agreement, which states that Google only acts as an editor when processing data from website visitors. We only use the use of our website on the basis of anonymous data. So no full IP addresses are used. Data sharing is disabled. There’s no use of other Google services in combination with Google Analytics cookies.
We use services such as Tradetracker, Daisycon and Affilinet to promote partners through performance based advertising. Performance based advertising is a fair form of advertising because an advertiser only pays for actual and measurable results. To be able to execute this service, Tradetracker, Daisycon and Affilinet use so-called affiliate cookies and matching data, which are only used when you click on a link to one of our partners (for example a travel organization or a shop). With these cookies a match can be made between the transaction with the advertiser and this website. As a result, Tradetracker, Daisycon and Affilinet know that this website must receive a fee. When registering this fee, this website will have access to basic, anonymous transaction data. We ensure that stored data is adequately protected and comply with applicable privacy guidelines and legislation. The use of affiliate cookies and the storage of anonymous transaction data does not endanger the privacy of the visitor to this website. According to the Telecommunications Act and the GDPR, no permission is required for this. With regard to the data processing within the GDPR, we rely on the assessment basis for the Justified Interest. We do however need to inform our visitors about the use.
