You don’t want to miss the next 3 days! It was already epic the last few days in the PNW and you should have a good reason not to go outthere this morning. This is a powderweekend! Just have a look at the maps below. All the models are pointing towards powder. No matter what model. The Euro ECMWF model, the US GFS model or the WRF model. They are all the same:

Temperatures will be good, snow in signicant quantities and a solid baselayer everywhere. Everywhere? No. Tahoe is again suffering. If you like dirt skiing Tahoe is your destination. If you like powder there are several options.

PNW

Great snowfalls last night ans it keeps on snowing during the day. And than high pressure will take over. The storm track will ne pushed north, which will bring dry weather as of Friday. There is chance that new system may affect the Cascades as of Sunday.

BC

Backcoutry conditions are really sketchy at the moment in BC. After a long dryspell the new snow has landed on a very weak layer. And with weak I mean very weak. If you go exploring the slack- or even backcountry you might consider your decision twice. Read this article before you go out and make sure you have the proper gear and knowledge!

Today (Thursday) we will see some very light density snow before high pressure will take over. It’s hard to predict how long this ridge will dominate the weather in BC.

Montana and Idaho

Just like BC, Montana and Idaho are struggling with the same weak layer as in BC. So take care if you go out! Today (Thursday) we will see some very light density snow before high pressure will take over. It’s hard to predict how long this ridge will dominate the weather.

Utah, Wyoming and Colorado

Snow will continue for the next days and resorts north off the I-70 will see additional snowfalls the next days. So you’d better wax up.

Stay stoked
