Freeriding Montana: Land Of No Use

Freeriding Montana: Land Of No Use

Montana is one of my favorite states in the US when it comes to freeriding. The state is less touristy and less commercial and offers great skiing possibilities in resorts such as Big Sky and Bridger Bowl. But Montana has more to offer. A vast backcountry for example.

Land Of No Use

This backcountry is by some people known as ‘Land Of No Use’, because there aren’t that much natural resources. Except for the white gold of course. This is half an hour stoke on a Sunday afternoon!

was born with maps of ski areas in the cradle and has visited almost all of them. His great passion is freeriding.

Discovery Basin is another little jewel, It’s relatively small but when they get snow it’s fantastic skiing that is low key, inexpensive and free of hyper commercialism.

Also, Montana Snow Bowl is super fun but the real secret is Turner Mountain up by Libby/Yaak which is a community ski hill open only Thursday - Sunday.
