What will be the future of skiing?

This is going to be quite interesting. Whistler Blackcomb takes a big picture look at the future of skiing & snowboarding in a four-part documentary series exploring climate change, backcountry access, the state of the industry, and the risks of losing kids to technology.

Get the conversation going

What does the future hold for us in the next 50 years? There are more questions than answers. This season, Whistler Blackcomb, produced with the support of TELUS and created by Switchback Entertainment, sets out to dig into some of the issues affecting the sports we love. Our hope is to gain some perspective and generate some conversation with four documentaries exploring these big picture questions.

  • Part 1: Conflicted obsessions: Is our thirst for adventure threatening our environment?
  • Part 2: Tech trap: What if kids stopped playing outside?
  • Part 3: Pushing the boundaries: Is the pull of the backcountry pushing our limits?
  • Part 4: Survive or thrive: What’s the future of ski resorts?

The first part will be released on September 27th. Check out more information here. So ask yourself, what can be your contribution?
