And illustrates what skiing used to be like before mega resorts and climate change wreaked havoc on independently owned ski areas.

The Alps
This isn’t something exclusive to Colorado. Several ski areas had to close in the European Alps as well over the last couple of years. Great ski areas where you could find the true soul of skiing and snowboarding were forced to shut down. San Bernardino, Super St. Bernard and Pragelato are just three examples. It’s something we all need to consider this winter. Let’s choose smaller ski resorts to ride. Not only it’s much more satisfying, there are fewer crowds (less powder panic) and you support local communities.
