Vorgipfel couloir in Andermatt has been opened!

You could read and especially see here how big the differences are at the moment in the Alps yesterday. While there is still no trace of winter in the northern Alps, winter has already started in the southern Alps. Of course Andermatt got some snow as well. Strategically located in the Alps, Andermatt benefits from storms from the north, west and south. It’s one of the snowiest regions in the Alps.

There is already a lot of snow above 2200 meters and the conditions are good above 2500 meters. The stoke is already in Basecamp Andermatton and a group of girls from Powder Magazin went out to ride the first lines in the Vorgipfel Couloir, also called Gemsstock couloir). Carli Brandtstifter captured the stoke for us. Awesome conditions this early in the season. With a next dump you know where to go: the southern Alps, including Andermatt.
