Big amount of powder. Brought to you by poederalert#5 . Up to 171 cm of fresh powder has falllen above 2200 meters in the Southern Alps. In large parts of the Southern Alps winter has settled and this snow will not leave before April 2013. At this moment snowclouds did move in to the Northern Alps (French Northern Alps, Switzerland, Voralberg and Tirol) and reports do show up tp 35 cm of freshies.
Where to go?
Below a quick few at the webcams. And as we speak the lifts in Prali look like they are already open. This weekend more resorts will open their lift although some did announce to delay the opening because of to much snow (San Domenico)). If you know a resort that’s already open or perhaps closed, please report it here!
Hints for the weekend
The resorts below had already a thick base before Powderalert#5 moved, they do have enough trees for treeuns and they got plenty of snow.
-
Livigno (no base at the lower parts)
-
St. Moritz (no base at the lower parts)
-
Monte Rosa (no base at the lower parts)
Perhaps closed due to much snow
Also good, but no base at the lower parts and a thin base higher up.
